TEE Student Life

Well my life as a TEE student is always an adventure.  I am
currently in my third placement where my day
to day tasks involve grading papers.

But in my other placements I had to work with wet sand, paint, glue, food, and all sorts of stick stuff that no matter how hard you try always ends up on your cloths.

I have to say it is a little more fun to get covered in kid’s crafts then ink from papers and pen.
My day is not just filled with TEE but also with a job I love (even though I trying to find another one). As you can tell I like to stay busy and I can’t stand not having something to do. Stilling still even watching TV makes me go crazy so now instead of watching TV I go to the gym! I like working out it’s just not fun to go at 5 am before school every day. But I do it anyway And when I do have time to still down I due puzzles.

My days are crazy my work load is heavy but it’s all worth it. I love the class I have in my last semester senior year, my job and the TEE program and all the students I get to see everyday. Even thought I spend many nights staying home to finish papers, questions, and blogs I know that I am way happier being busy then doing nothing. Every know I accomplish so much.

Rainting About Bad Teaching

"Teachers open the door.  You enter by yourself."... ...Chinese proverb.

The classroom should be a place feel free to learn without worrying about being picked on by their peers or their teacher.
Everyday there are students who go to school knowing they are going to be picked on and made fun of and that’s not okay at all. I see it every day and I can’t believe there is no one standing up for these kids. Not even the teachers help. The teachers are just as bad as the students, I truly think that some teachers just go to college to teach so they can pretend that they are still in high school and they can relive the “best years” of their life over and over.

So what is a student to do when even their teacher laughs at them and doesn’t understand?

I see everyday a classroom of adults (teacher included) pick on another student who only knows and has only been taught to receive attention negatively (See this is where all my TEE knowledge come in). If they just let the comment made slid and didn’t comment back the student would sit there and stop being a distraction. But noooo they go and pick, joke and laugh at this student who had never been taught better.
If everyone would just take notice and not laugh or make their own comment students would feel less bullied in school. School would become a better place to be at and I wouldn’t have to get so angry that I see this and I can’t even talk to the teacher about it.
We all need to stop and think how what we are doing is effecting others.

Career change

Like I’ve said I get to leave everyday from school early to go “teach” in a classroom, and I love it so much. But… I don’t want to be a teacher any more. I could list hundreds of reasons why I don’t think I’m cut out to be a teacher any more.  I still love children but having to be their teacher is not for me, I’m good just being a mom or maybe only an aunt.
Thinking about how I don’t wanna be a teacher any more has made me think of all the things that I know I could not do as a career.
1.       Teacher (obvious reasons)
2.       Truck driver/school bus driver – I couldn’t sit for that long or just drive it at all or turn. I don’t think I could even get in the cab. (I’m pretty short)

3.       Veterinarian- I would feel so sad for the animals!!!

QUESTON!! WHAT COULD YOU NEVER DO AS A CAREER?
The one thing I know I would be good at and love is something I’m sure you would put on your list, a funeral director. Yes I like dead people. I did the TEE program to see what I liked better teaching or being a funeral director and well dead people are for me!

Yeah I know it sounds morbid but I see it as my way of making that families memory of their loved one a little bit better. I know that I have been to may funerals in my life so far for uncles, aunts, and grandparents and some funeral homes treated of departed one with respect and us with respect but others did not and if I could bring any joy or ease to a family I will have done my job.
